America maybe changing its views on pot
« on: June 17, 2011, 08:52:19 PM »
I really never understood someone who drove drunk only spent like one day in jail, yet someone who got caught smoking pot could spend up to 10 years.

I'm against the hard stuff, thought I'd let you know that.

as one who has seen first hand the damage that current policies can do,  i find the article very frustrating.  none of what he's saying is news to 90% of the population.  yet still nothing changes.
it will never change.   law enforcement and the judicial system generate huge amounts of revenue.
anyone who thinks the government would slaughter one of it's biggest cash cows is naive or ill informed.  in the end, it's always about money.  untill the gov figures out a way to make money with the drugs without negatively impacting the gross national product, nothing will change.

the war on terror is the exact same scheme, just different boogeymen.
