New Member from Australia
« on: September 29, 2011, 11:52:06 PM »
Hi, I live on the Sunny Gold Coast in Qld & have been a fan of Robert's teaching's on video for a few years now, the guy is a class act.
I am still loving trying to play my Fender's & I am patiently waiting for a new Hagstrom Super Swede to arrive from the States & I have to say USPS is so slow it is not funny, somebody needs to put a rocket up there butts, anyways I live in hope that I will get home from work one day & it will be waiting for me to play.
Cheers.

Welcome to Dolphinstreet ML from a new arrival.  :)

The Hagstrom Super Swede, from what I've seen and heard of it, should be worth waiting for. When I was looking for a solidbody with P90s I was very tempted by the P90 version of the Swede, but an end of the line (and therefore much cheaper(!)) PRS SE with P90s pipped it at the post. Though with the PRS I miss not having the tone and volume controls for each pickup the way the Swede has them. Hope your Swede arrives soon.

BTW I'd be interested to hear your music too.

good luck with ups.  in the future, it's best to avoid them when ever possible.  google them.
man, those hagstroms are really attractive instruments.  i have never heard anyone say a bad thing about them.  i want to play one, but haven't yet.  you know, it's customary to post pics when you get yours. lots of them, with your initial impressions.

Thanks for the welcome everybody, thing are looking a bit grim on the Hagstrom front, brought on 12th Sept it is the 1st Oct today
& it has not arrived, the guitar shop in  New York is trying to sort it out for me. I just hope it is not lost as lefty guitars are rare as hens teeth here. I could not get one in Australia unless I wanted to wait three months. If & when it arrives will post pics.

welcome, MLJ!

i would advise you not to try to put a rocket up usps butt.  they do not have any orifices...which makes them...ah...you know? :)

hope you get your Hag soon...you'll really like it, i think.

Welcome to the forum MLJ! By the way, from what I'm readin' here, some of you guys don't dig UPS. Well from my personal experience UPS= decent, USPS= slow and fair tracking if any at all. FEDEX= someday, around anytime o'clock..... if then.

The good news first the Hagstrom finally arrived yesterday, only took a month!!!!!!!!!!
The bad news it has got a fault with the pickup switch, in fact the switch does not do anything but make a horrible hum when you touch it,
pi**sed off is the understatement of the century after waiting so long for it to get here. I said to the guy that owns the guitar shop that I brought from "make sure all is ok with guitar before you post it" and he told me it was all good, do not trust anyone thats my new motto
sad to say. Anyway I took the guitar to my local tech today he took the back plate off & had a look & had a laugh, it seems the little Chinese man that did the wiring hooked the pickup switch  back to front, just goes to show the guitar shop in the USA did not even test it before he mailed it to me. The tech will sort it out for me by the end of the week. A holiday to the States may be in order & a surprise visit to a certain guitar shop, ha-ha hello boys remember me the sucker from Australia.  ;)
