H-140 (LP Guitar) New Wiring
« on: October 27, 2011, 10:16:52 AM »
I wasn't liking the tone of my old Heritage H-140.  A friend bought some extra parts when he was making a couple amps and used them to redo the wiring setup of my 140.  CTS 500k Ohm volume pots, treble bleed on both pickups, .22 PIO cap for bridge and a .15 PIO cap for neck.  NOS Gibson 300k Ohm tone pots...

Oh, here's my latest glamour shot of the 140...

(notice the custom built amps in the back, bottom left, Fender Champ Tweed 5E3, bottom right 2x12 cab, upper right, Dumble ODS in Suede)

How does that baby compare to the way it DID sound? You like? Oh, by the way, you must be an exclusive type fellow. What do I mean? From what I know about Dumble amps is that they're not easy to come by, and if one does, they'll pay a premium. Of course I do realize times do change. I don't EVEN know what one sounds like. Anyway, that's some lovely gear you sportin' there. My hat's off to ya!

I haven't tried the 140 yet.  He dropped it off at my desk this morning.  As far as the amps goes, those are amps he built.  They are exact clones of the original design specs.  He also created the cabinets they go in.   The Dumble ODS is a well built clone.  Its his top seller and one of the hardest to make.  He sells them for I believe $2500 a piece.

Cranked up the Deluxe Reverb last night, stomped on the Boss ST-2 Power Stack.  Holy Cow!  The basement became alive yesterday.  I was rockin' the house.  Couldn't believe the tone I had.  The treble bleed worked great and the new pots and caps were awesome!  Its like a whole new guitar!
