Santana also played a Gibson SG Special for years until PRS won him over...

Don't forget the Yamaha SG2000 axe he played before he got on the PRS bandwagon.

I have to laugh at the so called "signature" models. Just another rip-off. Almost as funny as the guys on Ebay who think their Squier Affinity strat is worth $$$ because it was autographed by (insert name here)!!

+1 to the funny! I never bought into the signature model concept. Ya think it's geared toward collectors? If you get an axe new, and use it enough, it can be your "own" signature model. Just a thought. :)

I think Gibson is the worst for signature models. Putting in a different pickup or changing a pickguard doesn't qualify as signature to me. Fender really tries to make those signature guitars structureally different with frets, pickups, neck profiles, pickups, and other features.

This is true. Well, at least there's different thangs to choose from, stuff to talk about and notes to compare.
