Guitar Lesson Overview

Sweep picking and tapping - you probably think of me as a blues player, but I was into this shredding stuff a lot when I was a teenager. Here's a flashy shredding lick for you to learn. You can download the TAB in PDF format, and Guitar Pro 6 file below. The backing track is from the Line 6 JM4 looper pedal. The song I used on the JM4 is called "Alt Rock" and the guitar tone used is also from the JM4 - "4 The Lov Vai" and is great for this style of playing. It really helps to have a high gain sound and a bit of delay when playing this style of legato/hammerons/pullofs. Shredding is fun, even for an old guy like me! Haha!

The Line 6 JM4 Looper is a great tool for practicing and coming up with ideas. If you want a jamming buddy that easy to use - turn it, select song/drum track, and start jamming - then the Line 6 JM4 Looper is for you.

Tab and GP6 files

Learning guitar at your own pace

I want to tell you about the guitar lesson web site JamPlay. They have kindly offered a special 7 Day Free trial to visitors of Dolphinstreet.com. I have reviewed their site, and I have to say it is VERY impressive.

There are lots of teachers and many different areas to learn from. It is well organized, and you can learn songs, techniques, etc - very complete website for learning. After 7 days, you will pay a monthly subscription continue. For the 7 trial, you don't have to give out your credit card number.

Go check it out and see what you think. Since it is completely free for 7 days, you really should test it out. You have nothing to lose. If you are interested in learning guitar online, you would be silly not to take advantage of this. If you do decide to sign up, I receive a little bonus, so this way you help support dolphinstreet as well!

Guitar Pro

I use Guitar Pro for most of my video lessons. It is a great product that will not only show you the notes in both TAB and standard notation, you will also HEAR them being played at the same you see them. Very helpful for learning! Click the link below to try the free demo.

Order Guitar Pro 6, and also get our guitar-playing method for free.

Video Clips

I have lots of gear demos too on this site. Go and take a look at some of my Guitar Videos for some examples of gear I use or have used.

it would of be nice if you played it a little lower on the neck. Most Strats don't have a 22nd fret

I just stumbled upon you on youtube and first of all, "wow"! your great and you walk through those tough progressions slow enough for a guy to catch on so thanks for that and I was wondering if you are in a band or have some recordings I can access?
