The shortest guitar lick in the world? Well, I don't know for sure... how short can you play this? Tongue in cheek here obviously... but the point is that this is a great "trick" or "staple lick" that guitar players use all the time. In different genres too! Blues, country, rock - you will hear this lick in all of those styles. Just listen to Angus Young, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Brent Mason... they all play this! Make sure you can do this lick all over the neck with ease - it's incredibly useful to know.
I used a Line 6 POD HD500 for the tone.

I have lots of gear demos too on this site. Go and take a look at some of my Guitar Videos for some examples of gear I use or have used.
Very nice - what pedals are you using to get the country, blues and rock toned?
Comment added on February 14, 2014These lessons are the secret gems that have eluded me for years. Your small lessons give me huge improvements. Why can't more instructors teach this way? Another great gem from Robert!
Comment added on March 23, 2013Really love this idea Robert - thanks for showing us. I can see this is something I'm likely to use a lot. :-)
Comment added on November 16, 2012Shortest guitar lick in the world = most amount of bend for your buck. Nice job Robert; fun and informative, as usual. Thanks.
Comment added on June 02, 2011it might be short and seemingly simple but somehow I miss the technique to it.although interesting.it could be I am just making it harder than it really is.
Kudos on the short sweet riff type lick
