You can use the B Major triad over an E minor chord, to create just a little bit of tension and interest. You can of course use it over an E Major chord as well, but then it's just part of the E major scale sound.
When using it over E minor, you get that interesting major 7th interval in there - which doesn't normally fit into E minor. But it can sound great! That interval is part of both the Melodic Minor and Harmonic Minor, so give it a try! I use this concept all the time.
This is where I teach full time. Join me, and let me help you become the player you always wanted to be. I will teach you scales, improvisation, grooves, phrasing, chords, licks, solos, songs, lines, inversions, voicings, theory, tone, gear, and much more.
Just try me - it costs nothing to test drive my site for 3 days.
I have lots of gear demos too on this site. Go and take a look at some of my Guitar Videos for some examples of gear I use or have used.
Sweet indeed. Heard it, first time, right after you said it and showed it. So nice, I'm turning on the looper now!
