Guitar Lesson Overview

Play the intro riff to Pride and Joy, by Stevie Ray Vaughan. Also shows how to play the basic rhythm on this song. Updated on July 23 2006 - now covers more details on how to play the main rhythm part, as well as the ultra-cool turnaround lick Stevie used on this song.

I want to tell you about the guitar lesson web site JamPlay. They have kindly offered a special 7 Day Free trial to visitors of Dolphinstreet.com. I have reviewed their site, and I have to say it is VERY impressive.

There are lots of teachers and many different areas to learn from. It is well organized, and you can learn songs, techniques, etc - very complete website for learning. After 7 days, you will pay a monthly subscription continue. For the 7 trial, you don't have to give out your credit card number.

Go check it out and see what you think. Since it is completely free for 7 days, you really should test it out. You have nothing to lose. If you are interested in learning guitar online, you would be silly not to take advantage of this. Guitar Pro

I use Guitar Pro for most of my video lessons. It is a great product that will not only show you the notes in both TAB and standard notation, you will also HEAR them being played at the same you see them. Very helpful for learning! Click the link below to try the free demo.

Order Guitar Pro 6, and also get our guitar-playing method for free.

Video Clips

I have lots of gear demos too on this site. Go and take a look at some of my Guitar Videos for some examples of gear I use or have used.

The Pride and Joy SRV lesson is great and very helpful. However, I could not quite see what you were playing for the turnaround. Do you have a tab file you could share?

My guitar teacher helped me learn Pride and Joy five years or so ago but I never got some of the licks down. Thanks to that well presented lesson that you so kindly made us a gift of I believe I'll be able to play it like I've always wanted to. Thanks !
