Using the Diminished Scale over Dominant 7 chords works great, and here is an idea coming from this approach.
We can create a major TRIAD 1.5 whole-steps below the chord we are playing over. From there, you can move this major triad in 1.5 whole-step increments (3 frets).
Any of those triads can be used over a Dominant Seventh chord, due to the symmetrical nature of this scale. Cool? Let me know if you have any questions!
