Slowing down songs is another great way to learn from records and your song collection. I use Song Surgeon, which works really well for this. Check it out.

Guitar Lesson Overview

People have been asking me for a lesson on how to play a blues shuffle, so here it is. It's a basic blues shuffle in the key of E. It is a 12 bar blues progression, and chords are E, A and B. The rhythm is played on only 2 strings at a time.

In order for you to make the most of this lesson, I recommend you get the Guitar Pro lesson provided below, so you can refer to the tab as you view the video lesson.

» Download this lesson in Guitar Pro 4 format. If you don't have Guitar Pro, I highly recommend you get it. It is a very good tool for learning. Get your copy of Guitar Pro - it is a great program, I highly recommend it.

Guitar Pro

I highly recommend you buy Guitar Pro - it's the best software I have found for learning guitar tabs. All my lessons will from now on come with Guitar Pro files. You can download a trial version on the Guitar Pro website to see if you like it (I think you will).

Learning guitar at your own pace

I want to tell you about the guitar lesson web site JamPlay. They have kindly offered a special 7 Day Free trial to visitors of Dolphinstreet.com. I have reviewed their site, and I have to say it is VERY impressive.

There are lots of teachers and many different areas to learn from. It is well organized, and you can learn songs, techniques, etc - very complete website for learning. After 7 days, you will pay a monthly subscription continue. For the 7 trial, you don't have to give out your credit card number.

Go check it out and see what you think. Since it is completely free for 7 days, you really should test it out. You have nothing to lose. If you are interested in learning guitar online, you would be silly not to take advantage of this. If you do decide to sign up, I receive a little bonus, so this way you help support dolphinstreet as well!

Guitar Pro

I use Guitar Pro for most of my video lessons. It is a great product that will not only show you the notes in both TAB and standard notation, you will also HEAR them being played at the same you see them. Very helpful for learning! Click the link below to try the free demo.

Order Guitar Pro 6, and also get our guitar-playing method for free.

Video Clips

I have lots of gear demos too on this site. Go and take a look at some of my Guitar Videos for some examples of gear I use or have used.

Hey Robert

I've been watching quite a bit of your lessons by now, and I really just wanted to congratulate you on being the absolute best teacher on the entire net.
Your lessons are very usable, whilst there are lessons both difficult and not so difficult, and all of them are easily understandable.

Cheers and a big thank you from Denmark
- Søren
