Slowing down songs is another great way to learn from records and your song collection. I use Song Surgeon, which works really well for this. Check it out.

Guitar Lesson Overview

Mary Had A Little Lamb - SRV (Stevie Ray Vaughan)
This clip doesn't have much vocal instruction. I play it once normal speed, then at a slower tempo. Hopefully you can learn something from it. Tip - use a loose right hand, and mute strings with your left hand.

I use Guitar Pro for most of my video lessons. It is a great product that will not only show you the notes in both TAB and standard notation, you will also HEAR them being played at the same you see them. Very helpful for learning! Click the link below to try the free demo.

Order Guitar Pro 6, and also get our guitar-playing method for free.

my son is 11 and just picking up the guitar. he is getting lessons from my pastors wife. so far he has learned D, E7, G,A,B minor, and C. she has him playing the song Get Down by audio adrenaline. He has played the violin for about 4 to 5 years and he picks stuff up pretty easy for a kid his age. this year he started playing the saxophone in band and in the first week he taught himself three songs. he has potential and i just stumbled on to your website from youtube. any advice for me for him i would appreciate it. i will check out your site know that i found it. any feed back would be appreciated.
