Guitar Lesson Overview

Here's a fast pickin' lick for you! Can be used to end a country or blues tune, or as a cool sounding rock lick! Hopefully it's all clear from the video how to play this. One thing I didn't go in to, is that muting with the left hand is very important, so that you don't get unwanted string noise. I should probably have talked a bit about this in the video, but you know, I forgot. Hope you like this anyway. Let me know!

Download Guitar Pro

I highly recommend you buy Guitar Pro - it's the best software I have found for learning guitar. You can both see and hear the notes played with Guitar Pro. Many of my lessons come with Guitar Pro files. You can download a trial version on the Guitar Pro website to see if you like it (I think you will).

hey robert, hows it going. I feel like I know you as a friend cause im always looking forward to your E Mails. the lessons are great. I do have one question though. Ive been playing for over 45 years and feel I have A pretty fair grasp of the fret board. However, speed has always been a problem for me. Is there any exercises you could recomend to help me out? One example of a problem would be the rapid succession of hammerons and pull ofs on for example the middle E string with the index finger. It seems I lack the strength. I do practice on average about 3 hours a day. But to attempt this one little item has always been frustrating. thanks for any advice you may have to offer.

Awesome lick ! Is this an original RR?
I have always admired guitarist who can play like this, even though I am a acoustic fingerpicker. Nice to see how it is done in slow mo ! Actually I like the middle speed the best. Not quite as cluttered sounding as it is when played super fast.It allows my ear to hear all the great expressions better !
You ROCK RR !
Fred

Yo Rob, You make it look so easy, I guess I can't expect to much from myself after only twelve months of playing, kicking myself for not picking up guitar thirty years ago, thanks for great lessons.Cheers Richard.
